At the university’s departments, students conduct research in research and development clubs. The results of their research are published in the proceedings of student conferences. Students participate in subject-specific Olympiads and research and development competitions in accordance with their educational programs.

On April 10-11, 2025, the Kostanay Social and Technical University named after Academician Z. Aldamzhar held an interuniversity scientific and practical conference for students and master’s students titled “Students are the Vanguard of the Intellectual Future,” dedicated to the Day of Science Workers and the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev’s birth.

On April 10, 2025, the following sectional meetings were held:

Section 1: “Problems and Prospects of Socio-Economic Transformation in the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

Section 2: Legal Aspects of the Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Section 3: “The relevance of continuous education for personal development”.

Section 4: “Problems of Modernizing Natural Science Education”.

Section 5: “Current Issues in Technical Sciences and Information Technology”.

At the end of the sectional meetings, the students were awarded diplomas of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree.

The following students were awarded 1st-degree diplomas:

1. Otarova Gulzana – Kazakh Language and Literature Department, 1st year. Scientific Supervisor: Tolleuova Altyn Konysbaevna, Associate Professor

Topics: Abai’s Muras – the Golden Treasury.

2. , Chumakov Ivan is a student of the Department of Transport Engineering and Technologies, 4th year. Scientific supervisor: Dzhamanbalin Kadyrgali Konyspaevich, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor.

Topic: Winter University in Engineering Sciences “New Scientific Horizons”.

3. Gomza Maxim, student of the Tourism Department, 3rd year. Scientific supervisor: Svetlana Viktorovna Vagner, senior lecturer.

Topic: “Current Issues in the Use of Information Technologies in the Tourism Industry”.

4. Ivan Provotorov, 1st year student of the Physics and Computer Science program.

Scientific supervisor: Azataeva Kulizat Berkеновna, Associate Professor.

Topic: “Implementation of Reggio-pedagogy and STEAM education in a rural school”.

The winners of the conference were awarded first-degree diplomas and commemorative gifts.

Published a collection of materials of the intercollegiate scientific and practical conference of students and undergraduates “Students are the vanguard of the intellectual future” in the volume of 12 printed pages.

Students of our university participate annually in Olympiads and scientific competitions held in Kazakhstan and in Russia. Table 6 presents information on the winners of student Olympiads and competitions.

The university’s departments host scientific seminars for master’s students, where they present reports on their work (research conducted on the topic of their dissertation, articles written, and participation in research internships and international conferences).

In addition to conferences during the year, the university organized: Olympiads (in disciplines), round tables, debates, quizzes, thematic meetings together with teachers and employers.
