List of recipients of state educational grants

Aug 3, 2024

The list of recipients of educational grants for the 2024-2025 academic year has been published on social networks of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Testing Center.

In total, more than 104 thousand applications were submitted to participate in the competition for the award of educational grants, which is 10 thousand more than last year.

State grants were awarded following the final meeting of the Republican Commission, which included deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of government agencies, trade unions in the field of education, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and public organizations.

The largest competition was among applicants who chose the GEP “Dentistry” – 35 people per place. Next are “International Relations and Diplomacy” (11 people), “Training of Physical Education Teachers” (10 people), “Translation Studies” and “Psychology” (9 people).

Among the applicants, there are more than 22 thousand applicants with preferential rights in case of equal points, namely holders of the Altyn Belgi badge, winners of international and republican Olympiads, and excellent students. In addition, when distributing grants, quotas for children from socially vulnerable categories were taken into account.

Enrollment in universities will be carried out until August 25 inclusive.

Let us recall that the largest number of grants were allocated for engineering and technical areas. By order of the Head of State, differentiated grants with partial payment for tuition were introduced for the first time this year. 150 differentiated grants were allocated for the GEP “Pedagogical Sciences” and “Social Sciences, Journalism and Information”. In addition, 3 903 grants were allocated for applicants under the “Serpin” program. The list of grants also includes 5,000 targeted educational grants for studying at leading universities for young people from densely populated, newly formed and western regions.
