On December 1, 2023, teachers of the Department of Humanities of the Kostanay Social-Technical University named after academician Z. Aldamzhar Abdullina D.Z., Nikulina O.Yu. organized a meeting of students of the educational programs “Pedagogy and Psychology”, “Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education” with the director of the “Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities “Malika” in Kostanay Karabekova Aigul Kanatovna.
The meeting was dedicated to the topic “Special children. Autism”. Autism is a scary word that all parents are afraid to hear. Recently, this diagnosis has become more common – at least that is the impression.
Autism is not a specific disease with a specific cause, but a whole group of disorders that result in problems interacting with other people. The “Malika” rehabilitation center houses children with autism and other mental disorders, where they are assisted by qualified specialists.
Aigul Kanatovna shared her vast work experience, answered questions of interest: what are the causes of autism spectrum disorder, how autistic people manifest themselves in life, what assistance does the state provide to such children, etc.
The conversation aroused keen interest among the youth audience. Aigul Kanatovna, a person who encounters “special” children every day, was able to easily answer all the questions asked.
