On May 7, Kazakhstan celebrates Defender of the Fatherland Day. Our University yesterday took part in the action, where the staff of the university laid flowers at the monument to Koblandy batyr.
Koblandy batyr is a legendary folk hero who lived in the 15th century, but the memory of him is still in the hearts of Kazakhstanis.
A bit of history: according to Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev, it was Koblandy who became the reason for the formation of the Kazakh Khanate: Koblandy killed Dairkhoja (Akzhol) from the Argyns , who was at enmity with him, and Zhanibek Khan demanded to extradite him for a Sharia court, but Abulkhair Khan refused him. Then the Argyns and Kereis, led by Zhanibek and Kerey, separated from Abulkhair and migrated to the east.
