On February 14, 2024, in the reading room of the Kostanay Social-Technical University named after academician Z. Aldamzhar, for the purpose of Military-Patriotic education of student youth, a meeting was held dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan with Veterans Warriors-Internationalists who served in the military ranks of a limited contingent of troops in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan (DRA). Following Veterans Warriors-Internationalists took part in the meeting with university students and students of Kostanay Social-Technical College:
– Zhaisanbaev Zhanabyl Saktaganovich, served in 1986-1988, Kabul, anti-aircraft missile regiment, private, driver (now colonel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, retired);
– Amanov Meirambek Zhumabaevich, served in 1985-1986, Bagram province, 108th motorized rifle division, guard sergeant, squad commander.
As part of the meeting, guests were given an excursion to the Museum of the founder of KSTU named after academician Z. Aldamzhar and the Testing Center, where Baikadamov N.T., Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Public Relations, introduced in detail the history of the university, the material base and the educational process.
Before giving the floor to the guests, a documentary film about the history of the Afghan War of 1979-1989 was shown, then, one by one in complete silence, the guests spoke about the period of their service, feelings of military Friendship and Patriotism, love for the Motherland, and the sorrows of losing military friends. During the meeting, the guests answered questions from students and gave parting words. At the end of the meeting, on behalf of the Kostanay Social-Technical University named after academician Z. Aldamzhar, the following were awarded:
– Book of memory of academician Z. Aldamzhar;
– Letters of gratitude from the rector of the university Abdullin Ruslan Batyrzhanovich;
– A present;
