A guest lecture on “Countering fraud” was held for students at Kostanay Socio-Technical University named after Academician Zulkharnai Aldamzhar.: how to protect your money and personal data.”

The lecture was conducted by Nusipzhan Asem Bauyrzhankyzy, a leading specialist at the Anti-Fraud Department of Bereke Bank.
During the meeting, the current types of financial and online fraud that anyone can face today were discussed. Special attention was paid to fraudulent calls on behalf of banks and law enforcement agencies, phishing messages and websites, fake online stores and social media accounts, schemes with fictitious investments, as well as the involvement of citizens in droppery.

Using specific examples, the speaker explained what psychological techniques attackers use, how to recognize signs of fraud, and what actions should be taken when receiving a suspicious call or message. The students received practical recommendations on the protection of banking data, personal information and funds.

Of particular interest was the topic of dropping — situations where a person is offered “easy earnings” for receiving and further transferring funds through his bank card. During the lecture, it was emphasized that participation in such schemes may entail responsibility.

Such meetings contribute to improving students’ financial literacy, developing responsible financial behavior, and developing skills in the safe use of digital financial services.
